Excellent portrait! His eyes are perfectly captured and composition is great! DOF is well chosen for the portrait and for the background, congratulation. I also think that this B&W fits very well with grain effect.
Small thing that bothers me is the fact his hand is a bit OE, and I don't see a balance for that somewhere else on the photo. The big thing that bothers me (and it actually doesn't matter for TL post) is this: don't you think that grandfather would love to see the face of his grandson? I'm sure he will love this photo anyway, because it is a great photo, but still...

At first i thought this image was made in dark room then i saw Coolpix! Great analog B/W feeling in this shot.Very nice post processing.I use 55mm filter as well but not as well as you.

Good to see you around again Carmem. How nice you took the photo for the child's grandfather to see. Very good macro portrait of this little boy. The grain is good. Did you remove it from the eyes? Just wondering.
