The Atacama desert is so unique that one easily can imagine to be out of this planet.

I just came back from a motorcycle riding in South America, including 3 countries, Brazil, Argentina and Chile. We rode 8,500 km in total through heat, snow, ice, sand, butterfly clouds, high altitudes and sea level.

On time, the name of the mountain at the background is Licancabur vulcan. You can see it from virtually everywhere around San Pedro de Atacama.

Hope I will be able to display here some of the shots taken during this wonderful trip .

Cheers to all,
Wellington

Urs

Fantastic shot Wellington, excellent use of fish-eye lens, saturated colours and the vastness of the place is spectacular.. well done

Hello Wellington,
This magnificent presentation of the dessert Atacama.
A clever idea to make such a presentation.
I am a little envious that you managed to so many km traveled through three countries.
But we are glad that these wonderful new play and you've seen, thanks.
Greetings,
Adrian

Hello Wellington,

The shadow captured my attention. Then when I read your caption and your mention of the feeling of being on another planet, I reflected to a trip that I took to Mt. Lassen Volcanic Park here in northern California where I also felt like I was on another planet. One ancient volcano was surrounded by sand and there were large bolders which are called "volcanic bombs" which were scattered throughout the sand -- yes, like another planets. My "moonscape photo" is here: http://www.treklens.com/viewphotos.php?l=3&p=304866

Whatever, I like the other worldliness of this image. Sounds like a fun trip also!

Keep shootin'

Richard

Robert

Hello Wellington,
I have seen many fish eye lens and shadow experiments on TL, but you here offer us a very original combination of both. Your picture effectively shows that even on Earth, one can feel like on another planet (in a literal and figurative way ;o)).
Excellent compo and colours as well.
TFS & kind regards,
Erik
