I felt uncomfortable photographing people the whole time we were in Ecuador -- it seemed intrusive at best, insulting at worst. I finally found my chance the last day of our trip. We went to Otavolo to see the open-air market. When we arrived, I hid out on the bus for a while capturing people as they walked by on the way to the market.
This young woman has a humongous kid on her back. I can't believe she is still carrying him. The young daughter walking beside her was dressed in traditional clothing for the area.
I wish I had gotten better DOF on this one. The wall is a little too sharp and distracts a bit from the people. |
