[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi,
A picture of a crab taken at the Atacames beach.
A beautiful place.

For making this shot possible I had to lay down on the wet sand and wait for the little crab to look at me, hopefully it did, and I have about 10 pictures of it, here is what I thought was the best one,

However there is a sad ending to this... after taking pictures of 'crabby' I went back with my family and about 5 mins after I see two kids (two boys) surrounding the crab, I looked closely and I saw them throwing stones at it and try to breat it's shell, I jumped and told the kids off, telling them to stop, I couln't resist, I was so ungry, I wanted to punch them, their father came and I explainned the situation, according to him, their kids were only playing... it didn't look that way to me, he told me that the kids were now scared and won't play... I hope it would give them a lesson ;)

Anyway, what I have now is a little image of a 'once' cute crap. :(

Did you PP the photo to make the crab really stand out..
either way.. its a great shot.. the crab and its reflection..
Perfect placement in the shot... Hope the sand was not cold..
and GOOD for you standing up for this little one... I also hope you gave them quite the fright! ;)

a beautiful composition, the only red colour of the crab within the grey tunes of the ambiance.
great sharpness and clearity on the crab and it's reflection.

I love the subject and his colours of course, and the reflection...but the BG and the colour tone of it is great and make this compo really well done.
A pity a lack of sharpness.

great image nice POV
orange colour stands out well against BG

a colourful crab on this grey background... it seems to look for its way. I woiuld have cropped more at the upper part of your photo however.

Wonderful use of color .. the contrast is evocative and startling .. love the way the focus works into it .. sad story .. tremendous image.

Hola Luis,
Cuando vi este cangrejo, pense, claro tuve que acostarse en la arena, y leyendo tu nota, veo que lo hiciste. Valio la pena, me gusta el cangrejo tan nitido y su reflejo, tambien me gusta que desde este angulo, tambien incluyeras los barcos, un buen balance para la composicion.
