A view of the Basilica and part of the city of Quito from our dining room at the roof top of a restaurant. It may be bright but there is no sun so somehow there is something missing in the photograph.

The Basilica del Voto Nacional, or simply ‘the Basilica’. Consecrated in 1988 (though still technically unfinished) the church stands on a steep hill to the northeast of the old town and can be seen from almost everywhere in the city, particularly at night when it is illuminated, beacon-like, in bright green and blue. It is aan imposing church in neo-gothic style.

Another view may be seen in the Workshop.

Olá Andre,

Uma bela foto panorâmica de Quito, tendo ao fundo a bela basílica.
Cores bem naturais, bom contraste e um belo céu, embora nublado.
Parabéns!
Sergio
