[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A street in old Quito leading up to the upper part of the city . It is much less busy at this time of the evening . The blue lights encased in the ground to the left are real .
PP work includes cropping , erasing a half-person ? right ,, that was cut in half by the first lamp post to the left , dodging and burning in places where i thought aesthetically might improve balancing the overall lighting of the scene , sharpening and a narrow complementary frame ,
1/5 s ( held the camera against a sign post ), f/5.6 ,auto white balance , manual program ( almost always work in manual mode anyway , gives me the latitude in choosing what seems best in all situations ) , iso 100 --- yes it's correct , i always go for the lowest iso for fear of getting too much noise , this camera has a tendency to produce it without warning , lol

Hello Carol.
Wonderful exposure and colours. I like the lights up on the hills in the b/g. Well composed shot with interesting mood. Could have more impact if there was somebody walking down the street.

Bonjour Carol.

Très belle photo de nuit. La luminosité est très bien balancée. J'aime beaucoup la composition qui nous fait penser qu'en suivant ce chemin nous finirons par découvrir les maisons qui semblent suspendues au ciel. ;-)

This shot reminds me of why I look for your photos - it is stunning. Beautifully composed and sharp (you've done well at 1/5sec. even holding against a post). I particularly like three components - the street wandering off into the distance (always evocative for me), the sea of twinkling lights in the background and the light in the window of the church on the right.

This is beautiful Carol! I was wondering what the white lights are in the sky? The reflection off the street is what catches my eyes! Nice details, very sharp and just enough light to be mysterious!
