Current investigations indicate that Peru has been
graced with more than 20% of the butterfly fauna in the world. More than 3700 species! More butterfly species exist in Peru than in all of sub-Saharan Africa. A
lepidopterist's paradise. New species are being discovered on a daily basis. This guy probably has been
identified, but a "flying flower" by any name is a sight to behold!
