[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This photo taken inside the monastery of Santa Catalina in the city of Arequipa in southern Peru. The monastery covers a whole city block and is really a walled city within a city. It dates back to the late 1500's and was once home to over 400 nuns who came from the best Spanish families. They brought with them servants and many of the trappings of a previous life outside the monastery. 20 or so nuns remain and use part of the monastery, the rest is open to the public.
This is a facinating place to visit, for photographers it is a gold mine of vivid colours and ever changing light and shadow.

Hi Hugh. I know this is a great place. When I was in Arequipa last Frebruary I did not go there because I got sick. Sorry....

Good picture, better note.

I really like the way the electric blue part of the wall litterally jump out of the scene to fall right at the good place in the eye. Great blue for a great shot.
