"The San Francisco de Arequipa Cathedral ("Catedral San Francisco de Arequipa", in Spanish) is located in the "Plaza de Armas" of the city of Arequipa, province of Arequipa, Peru. It is the most important temple of the city and Diocesis of Arequipa since it is the base of the Archibishop and Metropolitan council. The cathedral is also considered one of Peru's most unique and famous colonial cathedrals since the Spanish conquest." -- Taken From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco_de_Arequipa_Cathedral
A curious tidbit invoves two stained glass windows. One depicts St. Peter, however since Arequipa has long been a socialist leaning city, the model used for his face is that of Karl Marx. Another stained glass window has a big resemblance to Ernesto "Che" Guevara.
At the time of our visit, the University professors were on strike and instead of picketing they offered free classes on the plaza in the center of town -- in front of the cathedral. They offered classes on starting your own business, preparing taxes, ceramics & crafts, history, literature & poetry, and so on. The environment was very positive and lots of people were out and about visiting the various kiosks and tents. It was very impressive. |

Good night view...good composition...maybe you should rotate clockwise a little.
Anyway a good work.

Regards, Francesco
Very good idea of the photo, I like this kind. It is just tilted a little to the left. The columns and arcs are beautiful.
