This is a very nice composition with the use of the diagonal and the high contrasts. I would have just preferd to have more focus on the salt. But still a very nice photo.

Interesting visual, I imagine that in wide climbs, all this salt in the formation. He ignored this effect of the nature. Beautiful explanatory text.

Funny how it look like a curious snow... But i would not drop hot mapple tuffy on it... On real snow it something delicious... But on salt... I'm not sure :)
The texture of underwater is something great too!
Only some adapted bacterias can live in a water like that :)
I enjoy the detail!
