[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
At 3400 m, on the road to Chivay, our bus stopped by the roadside for the tourists to buy handicrafts from this woman and several others. I told her that I travel light and wanted nothing but the pleasure of taking her photo with child and lamb...for which I was happy to offer the equivalent sum for two handwoven belts. She smiled and said..."No charge." On hearing that, I gave her the equivalent of three belts. She almost fell off the cliff..ha!

I love these kind of native photos. It has a lot of details. The mountains are different from the ones I use to see. The little girl touching the lamb, the smile on the woman´s face, the belts, all that make this photo to be a SPECIAL one. TFS

Wondelful shot I have one of those hats at home , I love all thos hand mad thins they sell at chivay, very nice shot I love it.

Hi Michael,

Nice photo of a pretty mother and child. Her colorful wares in the foreground offer a stark contrast to the rather drab appearance of mountains in the background. There is also something about her smile that suggests a certain sadness, or maybe I’m reading too much into it. The partial shade of her hat kind of emphasizes it. Wonderful story also.
