Roadside vendors in the Altiplano are plentiful and they sell some of the most colorful handicrafts in the world, as, for example, these hats and scarves. Most are woven from alpaca (more expensive) and llama, but, occasionally, some polyester will sneak in so... caveat emptor. Best way to test for synthetics is to take a few strands and light them with a match. If the material "bubbles" and leaves no odor of burnt hair, it's not

Wonderful! Lovely colours and very clear and sharp photo. I can almost copy the patterns.. (if I had patience enough to start knitting again....) And their handicraft is usually so cheap, so you regret you did not buy more. I need a new poncho, for instance...
