Here is another impression of Machu Picchu. This was the final destiny after 5 days of hiking in the mountains. A very deserved one.

Interesting shot from an exotic place. But it suffers from the disease of many travel/vacation pictures: shot when you happened to be there and not when the light is best.
Regards and Happy New Year,
Tibi

Mooi, Pedro. Staat ook op m'n verlanglijstje - zoals zoveel ;o)).
Een heel goed overzicht van de site. Op statief en dan een pano lijkt me daar ook best handig. Niet echt veel bezoekers op dat moment, da's zeker een pluspunt hier.
TFS!
Beste wensen voor 2008!

5 days, Pedro? You surely deserve to be rewarded with this wonderful historical site landscape. And my thanks for sharing to us your nice, clear and sharp shot.
Best wishes, HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008
Ramdan.

A breath-taking place! A group of my friends hiked there this year, and may never get over the amazement:) I do wonder if the colors could be enriched a bit in this image, and also find that the pale dips of sky at the upper edge are distracting and might benefit from some fill or at least darker color. Otherwise, the view and clarity are a pleasure, and you have provided a good sense of the wonder of this place. I hardly ever say "awesome", but this place is! TFS.

Update: I tried to workshop more color/contrast into this, but can't get much more without distorting the reality. The upper edge, however, was an easy fix.

I think I can remember some others you had of this place Pedro, Iknow I have seen some that others have taken. Good POV and detail. With Karen's remarks in mind (and your response) I offer a workshop. TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment and workshop on ‘Guess the Film’

Hi Pedro - Your close-up of Macchu Picchu is a new perspective for me: The place is wider and bigger than I had assumed. I like to 'wonder around' your picture imagining how it must have been with the Incas still there... Thank you for sharing! - Cordelia :))

Picture taken from a good angle, well done.

Hello Pedro,

Many years ago I too hiked to Macchu Pichu. We got off the train at kilometer88 if my memory serves me right. It was an ardurous 5 day hike and I was having difficulty breathing due to the altitute--14,000'plus. The journey along the way was fantastic. Anyway, it is very difficult to get a comprehensive shot of Macchu Pichu. You have chosen a good angle, with clarity and detail. Well done! Joni
