[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was shot from a boat on the Madre de Dios River in the Amazon Basin in Peru. The original was a color photo with a lens flare added. After a critique about the flare I chose to remove it. But while editing the photo I realized that the B&W gives it more of the actual feel when there.

There was a fair amout of burning about 45 minutes upriver towards the city of Puerto Maldonado. There isn't the problem with illegal clearing and burning as there is in other areas of the Amazon. This burning was on legal farms for crop rotation yet it cast a haze in the sky for miles, which the humidity accentuated.

I hope you like this version.

Nice compo and light.

Andreea

Hello David,

Beautiful visual, taste of the composition and atmosphere. The shine of the sunshine in the middle of the lake gives a beautiful effect. Wonderful Silhouettes and very good use of the b/w.
Congratulations
