[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
These are two Uros women gathering reeds to mend their floating island floor.

The islands are made out of Tortora reeds which grow on the shallow parts of lake Titicaca. The reeds are spongy, filled with water and edible (but lack any taste).

The island floors sink a bit when you walk on them and feel as if you are walking on a large water or air-filled mattress.

The people who live on these islands, for the large part, do so to attract and sell crafts to tourists -- however, there are private islands where people try to live in peace, mainly through fishing, away from the city folk and tourist.

These islanders, however, are not the historical Uros Indians but decendents of Uro, Ayamara and Inca. The last full blooded Uro womand died in 1959.

good moment captured here. i like the colors and the shadows within this. There is some choppiness in the quality though, not sure if that is the camera or file size or what..good overall though.

I think your lighting is great and its colorfull, and I like the way you can see this way of labour !
