This is a basement beneath sidewalk in the Ghost town of Rhyolite. Someone had constructed this cross out of scrap steel and there was a hook on the end to hang it by, but when I found it there it was just laying on the ground under a grate in the sidewalk above that was allowing sunlight to come through and illuminate it some.
Not the most elegant cathedral, but it does not take much to make a house of worship. |

Hi David,
It's a shame that this religious symbol is on the ground, amoungst dirt and stone.. symbolic of how each generation places religion as less of a priority. Strangly enough, that little bit of light shows hope that people might change.
