The M/V American Mariner heads out on Lake Superior after departing with a load of coal bound for Milwaukee, Wisconsin, they are heading into a storm that is brewing over lake superior near keewinaw peninsula, this photo was taken before winds increased, and there is another ship heading in on the horizon

I love the angle, it definitely gives the impression of entering something huge. I have to agree with jchemas, however, that it could be a bit lighter. If you use Photoshop, you can manually or automatically adjust the 'levels.' I did some Googling and came up with a decent explanation for you... Levels 101. Keep up the good work! I made a workshop for you so you can see what I mean.

Wow, this is ironic. Though I've often felt Sam's photos could use some lightening, this one was different. I was pleasantly caught up in the gloominess of this photo. Now, I see recommendations for lightening. I love it just the way it is. How about the impression of 'entering something huge' and foreboding. Into the darkness, if you will. I love it!
One small point, though. There is a small black spot on the horizon, to the right of the ship, that needs removing.
