Another one of my favourite bird at the sanctuary. As detailed in previous posts, a very busy charactor. I liked this pose and thought you would too! He was about 5 metres away. Thanks for looking

RAW, converted, adjusted levels and contrast slightly, added slight velvia plugin, sharpen, crop, resize and post

Wow this is so sharp and very good details. You have the eye contact even though he is upside down. Excellent catch. TFS

Very nicely captured. Colours are quite striking, red eye and yellow feathers. No distracting background, keeps it simple. I like it.

What a wonderful catch, a very colourful bird and in a great post too. He looks very alert and almost ready to fly off again at a moments notice. I like all the blue space around the central subject, it reminds me somehow of an Oriental painting.
Well done
Joan

Almost like a very competent illustration in a text book. Perhaps I get this feeling because the 'pose' seems slightly artificial, as if the figment of an artist's imagination. It seems to trigger memories of such illustrations from high quality illustrators from childhood just a few years ago.
However, as a photograph, it is par excellence and I wonder how many shots you tried before this one.

Hi Tim

A superb macro, with excellent sharpness & dof. I like the yellow & black combo. Similar to a Regents Bowerbird here. Good work!

Nice shot. If I'm not mistaken it's a weaver bird. Could be wrong as I'm no expert. The use of flash gives it a nice touch.

OWO

Amazingly sharp. A very good nature shot.
