While staying in Boracay, I noticed that the pieces of beach jewelry are very popular with the women. They have anklets, necklaces, braces, earrings, hairbands and even hair ties. It is not expensive, you can get nice necklaces for $1.00 to $3.00 US as shown on this photo. A good item for souvenirs, others buy it by the dozen. Most vendors are young girls of 10 and 12 years old. The local materials being used are shells, polised stones, cut polished shells, cut bamboo, coconut shells, plastics and wood. Usually it is stringed in nylon, leather, cloth or weaved abaca string. For more Boracay picture click here photo319454

Pretty colours and nice shapes. Well composed. It seems to be very cheap for the all the work that goes into creating such a piece of jewellery. In SA you will be able to sell it for 3 to 4 times the price.
