[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the church I was taking photos of before I snapped yesterdays picture of Sarah. The sun was setting behind me and it smelled of spring.
This is heavily PP'd. 11 layers of photoshop pp to adjust curves, saturation, I cloned out alot of distractions, including two parking spaces in the foreground.

If there's enough interest, Ill post the original as a workshop, it really is night and day.

A funny note, I spent about 2 days PS'ing this one. This morning I lost about an hours work due to a power failure at work. Luckily after having dnoe about 5 hours worth, I decided to save. An hour later the power went out and had I not saved, I would still be crying!

Very nice work Frank.
Foreground is good, the border is very funny I looked many times but it seems that only upper side has a borde, which makes the image wider at top than at bottom.

Nice shot Frank. I think it was worthwhile to produce all those adjusment layers because the end result is great.

Well done!

Did you think of using NeatImage to remove the slight noise in the grey clouds?
I would make a 1 or 2 pixel white stroke between the image and the frame.
I have commited a workshop to show you what I mean. Hope you like it.
P.S. I also added a little smart sharpen in the workshop.

It is like a holy pelgrimage place; soft coloured and focussed. That lower brache gives a great contrast in the sky.

You must be one of those patient people, Frank! No way could I work that long on one picture, although this one seems to have been worth all the work. Very nice job with the pinkish tones against that gray sky, and the rich color of the grass!

You can be proud of yourself, imho.

Gayle :)

I agree about the border/frame. The WS version serves well.
I also agree about the noise. Not that is that noisy but some here are very conscious of it. I didn't notice until it was pointed out.
I do like the 'framing' tree. Good inclusion. Most worthwhile taking the trouble at the time.
I also agree with Gayle. No way would I spend that amount of time tweaking an original. I would rather have deleted it and found a subject which would stand up on its own. Having said that, the end result is satisfying and I can only hope that you enjoyed the whole process - which IS my best guess. Enjoy, it's all part of the same game.
Nice sky.

Return visit?

Hi Frank,
A very pleasant composition with this interesting piece of architecture!
The church is nicely framed by the trees, and really stand out in bright colours against the threthening sky... Well done!
