[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Today was the day I experimented a bit with macro photography in the free time I have. I shot a few shots to experiment with the aperture and shutterspeed of little critters. Downloaded them and decided that the first bunch of attempts weren't acceptable. Again I went out, on a mission, to take at least one decent photo. 65 shots later, this one is the best. These spiders (about 7mm) in size, are very shy and this shot is the nearest I could get before it jumped to another location. Great pose I think. It can become frustrating because you can't use aperture f14 and up with normal lighting, flash is required. I must however confess that I shot this one without a tripod, where macro work ideally require a tripod.

Good portrait! ;-)
Very good colors and focus! You have worked a lot, but your efforts are reworded greatly to our luck. At first I thoght that it is a kind of tarantulla, but your notes amased me with the fact that the spider was only 7 mm.
Congratulations!

Thank you, Conrad!

LOL - he's looking at me, and I think he's also surprised :) Great observation :)

Hi conrad,
Great picture, in focus and hand held. Macro and getting depth of field is so difficult, you have captured this well. Only 65 shots?
best wishes
Rob

AAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

Get it off me!

I hate spiders, but have to admit this photo is excelent! Although camera clubs might require that the item i on the rule of thirds, one may brake these rules and I realy feel that you have succeeded here in breaking that rule. Placing the critter in the middle and having it look you straight in the eye (lens), man gives me the shivers! Great shot, very well done.

Waaaaaaaaaaa! What a cutie! Look, her hair stands up in surprise ;-) Again, without tripod? Fantastic, keep shooting! I'd like to see this *with* tripod...

Best regards,

Nathalie
