[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi everybody,
This is one of my oldies that I brought here today.

This place is not the Bahamas unfortunatelly

It could be a great idea right now, when even someone like me, that loves winter time, is rather tired of snow, cold wind and white streets....
This is Estacion Ferroviaria de Atocha, one of the main raiway stations in Madrid. It was built in 1889-91, and it was designed by Alberto de Palacio Elissagne, with assistance from Gustave Eiffel. The interior was renovated in 1992 and now the travellers wait for their train service among a water lily pond and may sit on benches flanking a tropical garden, misted at regular intervals. The garden dates to the original station, and was referred to as “the winter garden.”


So, it is indeed a nice way to wait for your journey, if one doesn't mind the warmth and moist ;))

Well managed interior lighting. It looks like tropical Sumatera, at first glance. Good sharpness & well composed. Tfs!

I wonder why they didn't renovate Antwerp's Central Station in this fashion, Stef ;o)).
So, thanks for showing us how it should have been done.

Hello Stefania!

This is a real cool place to wait for a train. For sure , travellers do not feel too stressed when their train is late.

Reaklly impressive, travellers sitting on the bench are giving a fair idea of the size of the trees.

A very interesting place to wait for a train with this tropical jungle atmosphere. I think I had enough of giant trees and plants after the Amazon trip. You did good on the photo considering the weak exterior light coming from the top.
