Entry for hands challenge!

My first challenge was to make the right focus to my hands (without seeing them :)

* 200 iso
* f 5.6, 1/4
* Used black cardboard at back and black sweater under my hands also:)
* Converted to B&W
* I increased to canvas size from right by cloning out the black left part
* Adjusted levels and contrast

PS. I’m deadly busy this week but i dont want to stay out of this fun and will be here soon again for your shots and i wont miss the voting ofcourse!

What a great photo, I see a lot of hand photos, is here a competition with hand photos. I'm new here on the site and new with photography but this looks great. Thanks for your advice Elif maybe I'll try it one day.

I like this a lot because of it's simplicity and because you have acheived it with very little postprocessing but a lot of forethought prior to taking the picture.

WOW! what a fantastic image for the hands challenge. Great idea and done perfectly. The details of your hands are incredible and I love the controlled DOF. Very well done in B&W... the tones are great. Very strong... the hands lead to the eye. Great job... one of the best seen so far Elif!

Hi Elif,
very nice composition - I like the majority of black here. I am not sure what kind of emotions you wanted to show. The title has to do rather with devotion, the face expression and hands gestures show rather anger and kind of no way out state. I don't know what were your intentions - I am writing what is my reception.

Uhm... as of focus on your hands? ekhm... what... what about use of autofocus?!?! :-P

An elegant hand-pose Elif, but not exactly the pose of surrender. The limp hands and piercing eyes are rather an indication of utmost concentration, when the eyes and brain still work but the limbs have no actual function.
Nice hands, nice eye, black is beautiful ;-)

i've seen it before and liked it of course, but had no time to comment until now. Great DOF (without seeing :) and such interesting position. Your intention (surrender) don't match with the eye concentration (very normal on this kind of shot), but I don't mind it for such an expressive photo!

Great b/w shot, nicely blured background. The eye expression is a bit angry, was that intentional. Anyway, its a creative point of view.
