[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this shot in Manila. This young lady was literally "glowing" after receiving flowers from her suitor, as they say over there. This was actually shot ad-lib in a living room. I used PS to take out some distractions from the background. Also added some glow, and cloned out a few blemishes. I actually had this image in color, but the colors never looked right to me when converting this image for TL, so I decided to go with b&w. I know a girl holding, and looking at a rose might be considered a "cliched" image, but then again what's a girl with a rose to do?
Eat it? :-)

NOTE: This is not a hands challenge entry. I've been very busy, other than posting, and commenting, haven't had time for much else! Didn't realize there was a hands challenge going on. I'll be getting to as many of your images as I can, I saw a couple of knockout "HC" images so far, keep up the great work all! :-)

Would be a worthy HC entry (and you still have time, another 50 minutes before time runs out)and if you want to change your mind, just change the title to HC-Glowing for love and it's IN. I'll watch in case that happens.

I'm back.
As a photograph, it IS quite lovely. The moment is the key but she is a doll and the content is so good. Surprisingly, with a red rose in there, BW works very well.
As you know by now, I would have cropped it, with a huge chunk off the right side. That's only my interpretation. WAIT - no I would NOT. The shoulder is to cry on and the dioagonal of the dress is worthy.
Looking forward to normal service being resumed from you ;)

Yes Sam she is glowing radiantly. The light from her skin is fantastic. The tonal range here is incredible and you captured her joy very well. Beautiful portrait, young lady and that hand is simply gorgeous. Very well done Sam.

Interesting beacause of lighting too, kind of contrasty that contradicts the mood you mention in your note..?
Well composed and with good tonal range in the B&W... And of course a beautiful model, I'm sure she gets a lot of roses!

For a spontaneous shot in the sala this is great - light is excellent and the tenderness on your subject's smile is lovely.
Is the blur along the line of her shoulder from camera-shake, or post-processing? I'm also surprised nobody commented on the half-cropped hand, but the mood and overall look of this shot is beautiful - nice work.
