Jelena, these are such strong photographs. you've really executed well on your ideas. the frames carry the somber mood of the oncology dept of the children's hospital. great use of exposure and light. thank you for posting these pics.

Nas dva

Silhouetted against the light, the image of these two children creates a somber mood. The waiting room is not a place they want to be. I like the contrast between dark and light, the stillness of the waiting figures. You have an observent eye.

Excellent, heart-felt, heart-wrenching series, but with an artistic approach that does not rely on easy, cheap solutions. There is a distancing here that increases the impact. Showing these kids in this overpowering environment and in this overpowering situation... very well done, and very well understood on this end. Someone has said it already but yes, these are powerful photos, exhibition material, with a meaning. Gerat job, Jelena. It's not a "shot" that one can rate on a zero to 10 scale, it is more than that, it is a photograph, it is what photography should be about. Stirring, calm, real, balanced, well-composed, beatuful, painful, honest.
