[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
More than thirty years ago, back in my country, our photography class' instructor at the loco Palace of Socialistic Arts & Science gave us, the students, a homework: Please, bring the picture of your favorite fruit by the next week.
I brought this. During cross examination I had to explained...That was the only fruit my mom could get at the grocery store in our neighborhood. My picture landed in the waste basket for being anti-socialistic trash under the influence of bourgeois' propaganda.
Now, I have the most gorgeous and exotic fruits imaginable at my supermarket, for I'm spoilt to the bone Canadian.
Never photographed another fruit in my life.

And how's your homework, folks..?

Świetny opis. Ja mając wybór wolę jednak tak jabłka fotografować... są ciekawsze od tych pięknych wygłaskanych... i tak jest chyba ze wszystkim - z ludźmi też

Czesc Dżordż ;-P
ladna praca domowa. I kadr, i kolory, i oswietlenie. Czlowiek pomalu zapomina.... :-) Dzieki za przypomnienie. Dzieki za fajne zdjecie.

pozdrowienia

Marek

I won't do this kind of homeworks :)It is because I am a Chinese.Chinese like lucky and perfect things. But one thing I am sure, perfect apple doesn't have such beautiful "wrinkles"!Great shot!

chiping

I find this photo appealing with the textures shown of the apple peel. The lighting is very good and I especially like the black negative space above the subject. To me it looks like an old painting.
Cheers
Joan

Great note and great shot, George! Would have wished the underside of the apple was a bit more darker, but still, this image is quite powerful. Love the composition with plenty of dark space at the top. Well done!

Great picture and great story. Thats unfortunate your instructor was blinded by politics. Great lighting. Thank you so much for sharing!

Alan

This is a really good shot..
I really like it..
Maybe the black "stripe" shouldnt be so visible.. Only a little soft light there; that would be great..
And I also think there is a hard lightening on the left side, and it is blurred a little..

:)

From Zuhal..

Frankly George, I think you had an ignorant instructor. There's beauty in ugly things too and this photo is an example of that. It is strange indeed, but interesting at the same time. That's a really interesting story that goes with it too.

Richard

swietne detale i oswietlenie..genialne zdjecie!
NIe wiem jak bylo w socjalistycznej Polsce ale tego bym nie wyrzucila bo bardzo dobra prace domowa zrobiles!:)
Dobrze ze czasy sie zmienily:D
