Blackout

Don't kid yourself
And don't fool yourself
This love's too good to last
And I'm too old to dream

Don't grow up too fast
And don't embrace the past
This life's too good to last
And I'm too young to care

Don't kid yourself
And don't fool yourself
This life could be the last
And we're too young to see

Blackout is a song about the fear of dying at a young age. I aimed to convey the softness of the song along with the amount of thought it evokes.

PP-Actually shot in macro, it was a side on shot of my face mainly covered, except for my eyes and above, by my coat. I then increased highlights, fill light and shadows massively on Picasa, followed by a light blue tint. I then added glow to it to make it more 'heavenly' if you will and gave the whole shot a slight soft focus to make in kind of etheral-between concious and unconcious. The tears were done using the smudge tool on Photo Filtre.

Hi James,
Very nice experimental shot here. I must admit I cannot see your face though... would it perhaps be possible to post the original photo as a workshop?
The image really does live up to everything you meant it to in your note.
Well done,
Jako

This is wonderful! Nice experimental work! This is very creative, original and artistic! Bravo! Michel

this is quite an experiment james, I love the way you were able to create such an abstract from your own face. this is a brilliant shot and deserves a place in my favourites!

Keep up the good work

ps. back with points tomorrow

I like very much this work...

It combines something sore and gentle ... and the moment of silence between them...

combines something reconciled and fighting

Good work
Regards.

Szymon

congratz james for the beautiful image and even better concept. The only issue i see with this image however is the smudge tool looking like it starts from the middle of your forehead instead of your eyes. Ofcourse its an easy fix with the clone tool. :)

excellent work :)

I love this picture! Did you write the song as well?
