| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| I was in Dublin and walking around the city. Dusk was setting in, and the night was warm and calm. I wante a photo to remember the Liffey and this was it. Came out a little dark, and not very good. I've tried to help it a bit. Another PP practice for me. This time I used MS Office Pic Mgr. Brightness +10, Contrast -10, Midtones +, and increased saturation. If someone could improve upon it, I'd like to see it WS'ed. Thanks. |

Hi Daniel,
At first I thought you had your camera at a high ISO, because there is a lot of noise in the photo. But then reading the note, I noticed you probably underexposed the photo and tried to make it brighter. Causing it to become kind of pale and noisy. I try a WS on this one, but it is going to be tough because not much detail is left.
What you should have done: Set your ISO to 200 or 400 and take a longer (e.g 1 to 2 secs). shutter time and set it in a tripod or on the rail of the bridge so it can't move. This way it will catch more light onto the sensor and will give a greater depth.

Regardless of the minor exposure problems I think you did a great job in the composition and perspective areas.
It is a commendable effort!
Well done!

Hi Daniel.
To some degree I feel that the picture is let down by the river running down the centre of the photo. There is little of interest in the water. Most of the interest is on the sides of the river which is as you have already admitted underexposed. The river being central has divided the picture into 2 parts and my eyes tend to swing from side to side and not settle anywhere. Still its a good reminder of your time is Ireland.

Barry
