I believe this may be a Juniper Shield Bug (Cyphostethus tristriatus)

The Juniper Shield Bug is one of the most beautiful shield bugs. The animal reaches a length of 8 to 10 mm, placing it just between the Parent Bug and the Green Shield Bug. The head is longer than it is wide and the animal is green with (brownish) red markings. The legs are green. It is the imago that overwinters. This is a species of Northern Europe (even found on Iceland!). In Southern Europe it is only found in moutain areas at elevations providing cool circumstances. Both adults and larvae suck on Juniper fruit.
Info from gardensafari

I've posted a WS of the original so that you can see his back a little better.

Hi John,
The most on sharpness! POV and DOF maximize the bit head, that is so big that the rest of animal is out of focus :-). Well done!

José M.

Alien Invasion ( LOL ! )

Great macro John! Lovely narrow DOF focusing on the head. Note I would work in balancing the tones to see better the shaded area. I will need to post a WS .

WS added a day later !!!! Sorry for the delay.

Keep on shooting!
Robert

Hello John, you captured a very nice macro of this bug.
Even if the dof is shallow, I think that it's perfect here. I love the colours of the bug and its cute antennas.

Very well done! take care and thank you very much for you kind comments in my 11th of may post :)

Hi John,

Excellent shot and well done on the composition. It's a beauty. Just a wee bit under exposed. Robert's w.s. helped.

Mike

John,
Very nice macro. What a cool lloking bug. I love the good focsed head on this bug, the DOF falls of rather quickly which makes the head appear to be even more in focus. Good composition and notes.
Very nice work,
Scott

I remeber seeing something very similar but totally green. But in macro like that! I hope this is a macro :)
All those little dotsa are very nice for texture. A natural camouflage i'm shure!

great macro detail never seen before , colors great looks like he is from outer space.

beautiful macro john :)
superb colors and sharpness here
excellent macro :)
