Beautifully sunny night last night, so had a run up to St Marys Loch, a marvellous spot in the Scottish Borders. Got there and it was all in shadow, typical.

Still managed to get a couple of shots liked this one with the reeds in the foreground. Nice to have an old fashioned shutter speed and f-stop combination, a rare thing in this digital age.

Hi Peter, beautiful and great sepia coloring. Magnificent.

Marleen

interesting comp, Peter, I might have cloned out those vague branches on the left,to make it even stronger, but that's minor, thanx, M, (*_*)

Hello Peter.

Wow...love it. The sepia look for this really does it proud, very good position for the tree, the grass adding so much mystic feel.

Peter, love the shot, great comp, I like the way the waves are visible through the reeds as it adds interest and so balance to the whole photograph. Paul.

Great POV! I like the rushes in front, feel like im looking among them to the scenery.Good sepia tone, the branches at left werent be there, would be better. Good work!

Hi Peter,

Lovely photo!
It has that sense of mystery with the reeds in the foreground. :)
Love the golden/sepia colour tones and the dull sky! Very atmospheric composition!
Well done!

You don't publish very often these days, Peter, but when you do, it is worth it! The branches on the left have been mentionned, but otherwise, I really like this composition and the beautiful light. Love how you incorporate the reeds at the bottom. Superb!

I have to echo Pierre's comment that it is good to see you posting again, Peter. This is a very nicely done shot with nice light (like you seem to always have) and a good composition. Your sepia treatment also work very well here. Excellent!

Really good use of sepia. I really like the pov with the large forground of reeds. The subtle water in behind the reeds pulls the eye into teh shot.
nice T.F.S :)

lovely in sepia this will go to my trees theme tfs

Hello Peter,
Beautiful shot, and the use of this sepia tone is very effective! However I find those branches on the top left side a little distracting. Maybe I'd clone them out :)))
But still it's a wonderful shot!
cheers
