[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Venice is a place that needs little introduction. It is hard to imagine it is reality, especially for those who have never been there. It's improbable existance fascinates myself and everyone who sets foot here. It is another world with a style unmatched anywhere on the planet.

This photo was taken @28mm and then combined with a black and white layer (created by a channel mix with the blues set to low, then overlayed as a darkening layer) to bring out the clouds.

This is a gorgeous photo Dan. It almost looks looks like a oil painting. You took this photo at such a perfect location because there are so many things to look at, and it tells a story in itself. Congrats on such a wonderful image.

Have a look at the workshop...

Interesting shot, I like the dramatic desaturated sky it's different but it works. I think it brings out the colors of the buildings, well done.

Dan, this is an amazing shot. I really like the mixture between b&w and the soft colours on the buildings. An excellent DoF too - good choice of the exposure. TFS.

Overall I love the composition and such a great view, but I find it a little on the dark side. Perhaps this is the effect you were wanting by combining a black and white layer. I haven't heard of this technique before, and am wondering how you achieved this look with the black and white sky.

Very threatening sky dan..seems ther is a storm approuching..great composition !!
