Apparently, I am into clouds these days. And I am beginning to get to know Paint Shop Pro. And this shot is all about simple postprocessing. So all of you who know how to do postprocessing can switch channels now. This is purely for beginners like myself.
On my way home this evening I caught this cloud being hit by the rays of the setting sun. And the way the shot looked when it came from the camera to the computer is posted as workshop. It really wasn't much. But after a few simple operations I managed to make it look the way my eye felt it when I took it.
These are the operations:
1. Correct a slight tilt by turning one degree clockwise
2. Cropping
3. Resizing to 800X591 pixels
4. Applying automatic contrast enhancement (normal level)
5. Applying Clarify tool (strength 4)
6. Applying automatic colour saturation (normal level)
7.Applying Unsharp Mask (USM) (radius 1, strength 91, clipping 5)
8. Finally, applying NI filter with NeatImage.
The entire operation takes less than 10 minutes - once or twice it's trial and error, but it's fun and it can occassionally turn nothing into something. |

Terrific sky - similar to the one before. I like the pp you have done - and apparently, the usm added a lot of noises on the vegetation, this is not bad. I like the compo, well balanced and showing some symetry in the forms, i like the natural curvature of top of forest, the 'canopy'. There is some blur or haze on the vegetation, is it wanted this way?
Interesting clouds, good work postprocessing.
nice shot, good colours.nice sky shot, good capture of the forst to.

Stunning colors of the sky.Congratulations
You did a fine job on the post processing. It has really enhanced the original. What a lovely pink cloud. I can see why you wanted to take this picture. Good job.
