The next in my Muse series.

Plug in baby

I´ve exposed your lies, baby
The underneath is no big surprise
Now it´s time for changing
And cleansing everything
To forget your love

My plug in baby
Crucifies my enemies
When I´m tired of giving
My plug in baby
In unbroken virgin realities
Is tired of living

Don´t confuse
Baby you´re gonna lose
your own game
Change me
Replace the envying
To forget your love

My plug in baby
Crucifies my enemies
When I´m tired of giving
My plug in baby
In unbroken virgin realities
Is tired of living

And I´ve I´ve seen your loving
Mine is gone
And I´ve been in trouble

It took a while for me to come up with an idea for this shot, as I found loads of different explanations for the song, but eventually settled upon that this song is about Matthew Bellamy's (Muse's frontman) love for his guitar, and how he can play it as an escape from the world, how it is, in effect, his 'plug-in baby'.

Photo-Used the same technique as my falling away with you shot in that I sat in front of a lamp, set the camera on a chair and put it on the timer. Took the shot in B&W at maximum expsoure. I held the guitar itself like a baby and hunched over it, trying to imitate a mother holding her child. I left the cable out beacuse of the 'plug-in' part of the title. I added the white at the top to emulate Matthew's escape and therefore his recluse when he chooses to play his guitar to get away from the stresses and troubles of reality.

PP-Increased shadows, highlights and fill light accordingly and then the saturation for the green effect. I don't know why I made it green, but I liked it nonetheless. Cropped it alot, added the white at the top in paint, and then proceeded to clone, smudge and blur out other imperfections, especially some of the shadows on the floor.

Beautifullly done again, James. This one is particularly good and I very much like this elongated vertical composition that seems to add to its artistic presentation. Nice pose & very nice treatment as I do love the green as well. Excellent!

Hi James,
Great shot! I love the huge expanse of white. The composition is good, and the narrow vertical format works well. You have certainly carried the note through into the photo very well, with the person clutching the guitar with his back turned to the rest of the world.
Very well done,
Jako
