Dew on the leaves of a tropical ornamental plant called Cordylline fruticosa. When sunlight hits the beads of dew on the adjacent leaves, they are blurred due to the shallow DOF and assume the shape of the aperture. In this case, I opened the aperture to f/4.5 and you can see that the blurred beads became hexagonal and look like a cascade of cut jewels being caught by the cupping of the leaves. If I took this at a higher aperture, the blurred dew elements would be circular in shape.
Taken at the Garfield Conservatory in Chicago. Not much post processing. |

Superbe Macro. J'aime vraiment l'effet des gouttes d'eau . La photo est très clair et nette. Bon travail.
Manon.
MAGNIFIQUE, plongée dans un monde d'eau et de rose... de fragilité et de délicatesse ! Bravo, j'aime bien l'effet flou derrière qui accentue la netteté de devant !

Interesting angle of view. You caught brilliant colour. Cordyline needs a lot of light, after that can be so colorful. Have a good daz, Ken.
