[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was another candid I took in Florence last month. It was a really hot day and I spotted this girl with her skirt pulled down to her hips and folded up at the same time. The original shot had her and her friend checking out their reflections in a store window. Pretty cool huh? Straightened and severely cropped. I think I should bring my longer telephoto lens next time.

Critiques [Translate]

Okm its a pretty girl and the shot is well exposed (bad Joke) but the cropping above the feet looks wrong and a larger aperture would have thrown the distracting background more out of focus.

The girl is hot, who cares about composition.. looks like her parents gave her her own good composition at birth ;)

Great capture. I am glad you submitted this one. No worries on the Telephoto. You could have asked if you could take her picture. She probably would have obliged, knowing that she likes to be looked at. :)

The problem with comments like the one you put on this photograph is that it makes anyone with a SLR with a long tele lens into a pervert in the eyes of others.

My ethic is that I never take individual photographs of people without their permission, crowds are another story.

That said, the young lady in question is inviting stares by the style of her dress.

However leaving the sexual politics out, there's not a lot I can say about this photo... the girl is our of focus, and the background is distracting.

She's obviously confident in her appearance.
If you'd asked, you wouldn't have got the candid realness of this shot - but mate! you know you could have done better, as the note points out.
The crop - you needed to either include her feet, or crop it tighter, maybe just below her knees. You'd still get your point across.
The background - if the lens and aperture don't do the job the first time, cheat and use PP to blur out those distractions.
(I might do a workshop on this)
Anyway my friend, I admire your passion for life and beauty and I always enjoy your work. Thanks for sharing.
