[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This photo was taken as the sun was setting from a boat on the Chobe River at Kasane in Botswana. The boat created the ripple effect on the water. The sky was filled with a bit of smoke from a fire and the buffalo were crossing below the tree when I took the picture.
Unfortunately digital pics just don't do the subtle coloration of the sky justice.
I had to "clone out" a couple of spots that appeared on the image due to dust on the lens.

What a way to start on TL - welcome. Warm sunset colours, just able to see the animals. The only thing I would change is to crop out the top 1.5" of the photo (move the horizon way from the middle line).

Johann wat 'n fantastiese foto. I agree that a large part on the top of the photo can be cropped out. But for the rest, I love it.

Hi
Storm of colours. Interesting shot (I hope that there will be a continuation). Thanks to the description I discerned oafs on the horizon. (tramslator)

WOW! Amazing colours!

Welcome to TL! Just hope to see many more great photos!

Cheers,

A superb sunset shot - ok so a little cropping may balance the picture out (think rule of 3rds here) but if I had the chance to take shots of sunsets like this I don't think I'd be too eager to lose parts of the shot!
Thanks for sharing
Mark

Welcome to TL this is the first time we met.
Your name looks Dutch but you come from South Africa.
You’re a novice photographer and already taken high scoring shots.
This photo is a nice sundown a you was able to control the light because of the tree in front of the sun. This was working well and gives a bit more detail in the front. Look for the 1/3 rule in most of this cases. Your first photo follows’ that rule. This one not. There is a lot of negative space at the top. Place play with the crop. And you can find a better photo in this one more balance and better composition.

A tipical and spectacular sunset of Africa! I wish to visit that continent!. Keep sharing!
