[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Event : Petite-Vallee Song Festival

After we met Annie ( alias Beger ) and her husband Ghislain, we met later at the Social Cultural Center of the Village for one of the main event of the Festival. A tribute to Pierre Flynn ; Singer-songwriter, keyboardist and a great performer too who started back in 1971. I was a teenager than, but I enjoyed is very first album when he was the leader of a group called Octobre 1971-1982. After he continued a successful carreer on his own.

Mr Flynn is a collaborator of the Festival for many years. The last three years , he helped the formation of the young artists participating at the Festival. This year he is the godfather of the Festival. At the same time , the Organization of the Festival did a super job , in offering to the public a tribute to his talent. It was not hard to find great songs, as he was very prolific in his 35 years career. Even if he is not well known internationally , he is indeed beloved by the national artist community. The show started at 20h30 to end at 00h30. A lot of action and emotions all evening. Well known artists also participated in this magic evening such as: Marie-Michèle Desrosiers, Louise Forestier , Marie-Claire Séguin, Yan Perreau, Daniel Boucher, Edgar Bori (shown here) Nelson Minville, and many more.

Note some shows will be broadcasted on National Radio i.e. Radio-Canada - Espace Musique. On August 26th at 20h00 Pierre Flynn own show that was recorded on June 29th will be presented. Visit Radio-Canada.ca for more details on other festivals that will be broadcasted all summer long on the National Radio .

Technically. Time 20:54 hrs
Image taken from my seat. Note Edgar Bori is always singing this way. His face in the dark. In a way , I liked that. It gave me the opportunity to take a softer image and avoid too much movement.
Simply added frame and title . It gives you exactly the perspective and view we had from our seats. I played with tones here to reveal a bit more details. Filtered with Neat Image afterwards, before resizing.

Bonjour Robert,
J'ai le plaisir d'être la première à commenter cette photo. Comment puis-je te dire tout le plaisir que j'ai à lire ton commentaire? Tu fais un ambassadeur très dédié pour notre Festival et je t'en remercie très sincèrement.
Ta photo est excellente quand on sait que Bori se présente toujours dans l'ombre. Composition bien équilibrée dans un encadrement très design!

Hi Robert, what a great night-scene you have for us here. Excellent capture, the blue lights and the haze seen over the heads of the people in front of you look great. You managed real well with the lighting provided. Well done, excellent job!

This genre of concert photography, using low light levels, is never easy in my experience, & this is a good result. Tfs!

This is a very difficult shot to take but you did a great job!

A perfect composition, captured under remarkably difficult circumnstances -- would that I could double my :) to compensate. Excellent colours and blance of light within the shadow.
