I haven't paid much attention to TL recently, so sorry for the delay - you're right it is the same tree. I know of very few people who have been to this area.

Is it the same tree? - see here. this was taken in 2002...

Still I really like the area and your shot of it is great.

This to me has an almost metallic sense to it. A truly magical picture that could make an alternative Christmas card shot.

I would have made the further shore line straight as if a horizon, applied more burn to the closer bank since the white line does not seem natural and would have made something to blend in the tree without the white line around.

All that if I would have had made the original in the first place. Which is sleek, sharp, well framed, eye catching, nicely done to say the least.

Hello Douglas,
you have a fabulous gallery and I am spoilt for choice, but as this was featured I have to say how much I like it. It has a fairy tale quality, perhaps its from the winter world of the Snow Queen in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.Interesting pp work and I must try using dodge and burn as this is the second time in 24 hours that I have come across a photo I like that had used this technique to good effect.

Surreal and beautiful. It's hard to choose between your pictures so I just spent some time enjoying them all. Sure makes me want to find time to do more lessons in Photoshop. Your work is magnificent.
