This has great potential for a understated photo in low key black and white. Try a gradiated feel with more detail at the bottom and less at the top. Crispness and good contrast of b/w is the key here. I am not good at explaining how to achieve the effects but if you look at some b/w professional photos for some tips. Love the idea here.

Fantastic example of composition, you're not afraid to fill a photograph with emptiness, and it works very well!
