[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken during the last studio session with our mentor. This photo was done with four light set-up... main, fill, back light with filter/barndoors (towards the backround) and another back light towards the model.

Hi Allen,
A nice portrait, I like the soft focus. However i find the lighting quite harsh. Especially on her hair. I think it would be more interesting to have a greater tonal variation on her face with some more shadow areas.

I like the back-light and the way it catches her hair - and I presume you had a fan going to get her hair moving like that?
I have no problem with blurring/soft-focus techniques, although I do think portraits work better with the eyes kept very sharp.
Possibly could have a higher contrast in this shot to add richness, and maybe reduce the red slightly.
