An English Scene
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A view across the lake to the old watermill at Warwick Castle.
Post process consisted of the usual levels curves etc, but as the shot was taken midday on a very hot day the blues were a bit washed out. To try and boost these I did a bit of selective work in saturation and then used the selective colour filter to further boost the blues and cyan's. This helped the sky and water but I felt the overall picture was a little cool, so I used the 81 warm up filter as a layer and then painted over the blue areas in the layer mask to cancel the effect of the warm up filter on the water and sky.

Hi Andrew
A nice English Country Garden type scene! Peaceful day, calm water, blue skies and some swans - well captured!
Two minor things bother me. Firstly, the tree that's been cut off top left and a couple of leaves/branches just encroaching on the bottom left side. Minor things, but for some reason they bug me - sorry!
That said, it is a lovely English scene from a beautiful part of that place stuck on the bottom of Scotland!
Well done!
the comp and view is very nice here andrew :)
good colors and clarity
photo is a little unsharp around the tress, could be due to the wind moving the leafs around? :)
Hi Andrew
Impresive POV across the river. Warwick Castle is probably my favourite castle, I recall the Earls of Warwick having historic links with Royalty, eg. the Kingmaker. It was a pity Lord Brooke had to sell the castle decades ago though it has been well maintained.
This is a great composition. The lighting and reflection is superb. Looks like a lovely summer's day. TFS.
