[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
What a joy it is to be "home" again with all my friends here in TrekLand! I am doing well and hopefully now on the road to recovery....
I made these Christmast tree ornaments years ago. They are made from ordinary chicken eggs. I won't go into the long process of how they are made, but I will say that it took me over a year to make 9 dozen of them. Each egg has a 3-D Christmas scene inside that tells a story and the outside of the egg is decorated with various ribbons, pearls and braids. The first egg in the collage shows the inside scene of the Madonna and baby, the second egg shows the back of the egg and the third egg shows the side. My Christmas tree is decorated with these delicate ornaments and I also gave many away to friends.

Tech:
1. Took Macro of each egg using available window light.
2. Adjusted contrast and lighting on each photo.
3. Placed on blank canvas
4. Isolated egg by removing excess around photo.
5. Flattened and locked each photo
6. Resized for web using 4 steps and sharpening.
7. Added text and heart logo.

My thanks to all for your concerns. It is going to be a Merry Christmas after all!.......:O)

What a nice idea, and what a nice hobby you have here, Kathleen. You are a very creative woman! These are all little gems, it must be a job for heavy concentration. How do you get the things in the eggs, and how do you keep the egg whole? Nice tree decorations! The PP work is well carried out! TFS...

Beautiful, and revealing yet another talent of the Amazing Kathy! Is there anything that you can't do? We discover some new and hidden talent of yours almost daily! Please, can we have a close-up macro of one of these one of these days? They simply look too beautiful to be clustered like this. I love the way you used your little red heart in this one.

I'm not sure whether to critique the photo or your artistic work on the eggs, and that great text with the heart above the i. But I'm going to give you 2 points for being home for Christmas.

Great work on the collage, but I'd love to see just one up close one day.

Very nicely put together, the eggs are arranged well and stand out good against the black background. Glad to see your back!

What lovely eggs! they give Faberge a run for their money, in beauty, if not in value.

I too would love to see higher quality versions of these, one at a time, in macro close up, maybe spread over the coming months, they would really be appreciated!
