Here I am, playing again! A Selfportrait painting I've done in the late seventies is combined with a contemporary photo taken this morning. The picture (amongst other things)depicts the tounge-in-cheek conflict I had being a visual artist, but also a art critic and juror. The painting (and photo) also attempts to include the space in front of the picture by showing the reflection in the sun glasses and the camera lens of someone looking at it. The eye in the mouth is the intended pun of talking about what I am seeing.
I hope nobody takes this one too seriously, but takes it with the same spirit as I had produced it: Fun play!

cloned digital portrait onto pic of painting, erased some of the background and cloned additional elements from the painting in. Border added and text.

wow, this is so cool, otto,
terrific idea of you blending in with one of your old
paintings, great note, important for understanding all the
wonderful details and, yeah, i always forget there´s photoshop,
as i was wondering how you did it. *g* i thought you may have
done this by shooting into a mirror with the painting behind
you..would be a crazy idea, taking a photo of your old self..
ok, that goes to deep, we´re here for the fun, which i believe
you had in creating both pieces of art.
actually this deserves 2 greenies - 1 for the photo and 1 for the painting.
wonderful work & viele grüße aus köln, thor.

OK, cool. Lots of stuff going on in the painting.
Very late 70s as you mentionned.
Colors are impressive and so is the PP work.
What's the shelving for?
Is there a kind of Yankee Doodle hidden in there :-)?
And whose the chick?
TFS.

Nice weekend.

Wow Otto!
This is so original and colorful. You did great with this idea. We can feel this mood od the seventies but your portrait is very actual :)
Well done and thanks,
Claudine

I like the almost pastelly colours used. some interesting elements that are effective. Can see your painting side come out here.

Nice work of art mixing the painting and the photography! I just love it! This is very creative and unique! Bravo! Michel

eye like it! Good association of portrait and art!
The 70's is well recognisable! I'm not at all an expert for the painting reference... But i see theme some hippie thematic... Definitively less stress then that society where i grow :)
Nice work! Good idea for the reflect in the len. I would even make it with more transparence for myself... To make it look like a real reflection. Something like 50% of transparence with a soft light select why not :)
Only suggestion...
