This is a sculpture which sits on the north bank of the River Tyne next to where I work. It's an interesting piece, made of high gauge steel and the colour of it looks fantastic (I think!!). The photo was taken in the early morning, about 7:30, it was slightly overcast. In PP work I have cropped it and framed it and brushed out a little bit of railing which just showed on the middle left. The trees and falling ground from the right is as per the original shot. What I have left is in my opinion quite a stark contrast of hard metallic structure, God's own landscape and a big area of nothing, quite a combination but I like it.

Not too sure about the white sky on this one, Neil. I like the trees and the repetitive nature of the sculpture. However, I think that a blue sky and so a sunny morning would have lifted the picture giving a more 3D effect. I think the light was a little too flat, a case of right place, wrong light. Perhaps you could take it again on a different day.
Not too harsh a critique I hope, Paul.
Exceptional shot
