[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was a fun shot to work on. I wanted a Victorian Botany book kind of look to this, so I first took a photo of some of these grape hyacinth, and applied various filters to it, and printed it. Then I took real plants, cut a hole in the print, and poked the plants through to get this 3-D effect.

Now that these have just started blooming again, I can again take photos of one of my favorite Springtime flowers.

My wife wants me to get a bunch of herbs and do this to them, so that people will buy kitchen art and make me a millionare. Good plan!

How on earyt did you come up with the idea. It's briliant Dave. Great experiment. I was really puzzeled when looking at the picture, before reading your note. I saw there was something but couldnt put my finger on it really. The PP on the first shot is good and these plants adds an extra dimension to it So great

Good shot! Innovative idea too, I think your wife might be onto a winner there! I wonder whether the flowers could be slightly better balanced within the frame though? Anyway, it's a grand idea, and it's well executed - nice work :-D

Superbe réalisation David. La composition est parfaite. J'aime beaucoup la mise en image.

This is brilliant!!! I could see this hanging in my kitchen for sure. Has this ever been done before? If not, you just invented a fascinating new genre. I like the overall balance, you have placed the blue/purple flowers nicely offset from each other and the green stems frame it nicely as well.

Excellent idea and follow through. I think that the combination makes for an intriguing and interesting picture. Its nice to see something well thought out and not just a snapshot. The leading lines, focus (created by the art effect) and balance are just right. I feel that the placement of the berries is right where they should be, just a hair above thirds and framed well by the green blades. The cream color of the background sets off the berry colors just right. I would love to see more!

Great concept, and executed extremely well. Like the yellow/beige background and the faintly blurred printed flowers. This really does have an old fashioned botanical feel to it; like in the olden days when botanists actually drew images of flowers for their library collection. Well done.

very experimental too..after all that has been said..
I think this is genius...in this picture same material exists in 3 different ways...we see a picture of picture and pictured..
I cannot express very good but this is really philosophical...
