The fortified city of Dubrovnik is a UNESCO World Heritage site of great proportionon, and one of the features that I was most looking forward to seeing were the famous roofing within the fortified walls.

The image shows part of a roof, and unfortunately only one of few original roofs left in Dubrovnik. The upheavels of the previous decade had taken their toll and many of the roughly fired clay tiles had been destroyed and replaced by pristine and characterless alternatives.

The charm of the old roof tiles were their non uniformity in colour, thickness and texture. And amongst the sea of uniformity these original roofs are a magnet for people like myself who enjoy the rustic and authenticity of pre-reconstruction.

Hi Celina
Straight lines, but they want to watch such a camerawork. I like such presentations. Your point of view appeals to me. (translator)

I've been enjoying every image in your gallery, so stopped here for a moment to comment:) The shapes, lines, and textural details are wonderful. Is that a rock settled between the tiles? Love the earthy colors and the POV. Well done!

Celia I like this one every bit a much as the red mail boxes - quality focus/DOF with perfect color capture. I particularly like the way the lines move through the picture.

Congratulations
