[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this picture at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, where I am an art history student. As I was walking from the library to the center of campus, I came across a tree that was backlit by the afternoon sun. This is actually the underside of the leaf- the top wasn't nearly as pretty. I took several wide angle shots before moving closer to get detail. I pretty much had to stand in a bush to get this shot- I also had to pull off some leaves that were in my way. But I'm very pleased with how this turned out, especially the contrast between the red leaf and the green bg.

I really like this photo! You can see the sun at the brim of the leaf. And the cobweb in between... lovely!
A part of the leave is vague, but it's still a great picture.

The backlighting spotlights the color and detail of the leaf wonderfully. The cobweb is the perfect "accessory" to make this image look real. Your efforts to capture this paid off:) Good work!

Great picture here! I like these myself as I'm reminded of an area where I walked one time and it was fall and the sun was shining through a lot of leaves and the effect was simply stupendous! That was in Western NC, same climatology.

Love how simple this is and close-up. The detail is wonderful and you can see spiderweb still attached to the ends of the leaf. Great color! Smiley face :D

beauty. i love the white border around the red leaf. this probably came from the sun hitting it .(?) now i just wished that the aperature was smaller (f11 maybe?) so more of the leaf was in focus. Anywho, great colors details.
