Yes, it is overexposed BUT in this photo this is consequent and makes sense in my opinion. I see completely black and white areas one after anoter and the photo is well balanced concerning them. Looking at your original version I see you wanted this and I think you succeeded. I like the workshop by Jim too (he's a master in using photoshop by the way), but he made a different kind of photo :-)
I like it very much. I think the overexposure is great, though the top should be more defined.
Those eyes are very haunting.

Nice shot but a tad overexposed. I like her look though :)you can always post the "correct" photo as a workshop if you like.
Skarrlette, I posted some photos to a workshop, take a peak and let me know what you think.

I think this is your best self potrait Skarlette. Black and White suits the over exposure. I presume you use flash in your potraits. Try and see if you can soften the flash a bit. Either if you can do it by a camera setting or use some sort of difuser in front of it. Do you hold the camera in your hand? Since you enjoy doing self potraits my advice would be to invest in a tripod for your camera. You have a lot more freedom to move around then. I would love to see a picture that really puts your big beautifull eyes in focus. Taht is one thing that makes this potrait stand out against the rest, IMHO, they eyes are really deep in this photo.
Hey Skarlette!
A very cute model, I must give you that one. The expression on her face, I think reflects that sweetness, the innocent eyes and the small lips, and the curly hair.
I like the effect you have created in photoshop. But I do believe that you should have left it at the original. It's a little edgy, and a lot of noise is left behind by this one.
Thanks for sharing, you have a wonderful model!

Even if it's seems over exposed, there's something special in the picture. May be the glance or the light, or both, the diagonal enters the rear window and the shoulder attract the glance directly towards the eyes ... for me it's an interesting portrait.
