This shot was taken at the same property as Ice trees and Ghostly trees, both posted at TrekEarth.com. It's at the corner of N. Drexel and E. Broad Streets in Bexley (Columbus), Ohio. I'm not sure what business owns the property, but the circle continues on each corner of that intersection.

The winter storm that encased much of central Ohio left the uplit trees in this little park glistening. My hubby and I made a special trip into Columbus Sunday night so I could take pictures - I hadn't seen them since the icestorm, but I knew they would be breathtaking.

This one does have some cloning. The lights were out on the top 1/4 of the large fir tree; I cloned some of the lights from the lower branches so the tree wouldn't look really odd. What the caretakers didn't want to do in frigid temperatures, I just did digitally. ;)

I used a tripod and shot this in night mode without a flash. Since I don't have a remote shutter release cable yet, I had to use the 10-second self-timer for each exposure. That got old fast, but it was worth it just to capture this rare sight.

I know there is a lot of noise. I meant to have the camera at ISO 100, but had it on ISO 200. If I had Photoshop installed on my new computer here, I'd have done more extensive editing. Workshops most welcome, just please tell me how you did the various things! :)

I chuckle when you say "storm." We came home to 3 feet of snow last night from Toronto to Manitoulin Island.
It is a beautiful image and colors. I like the way ice sticks to trees. Well done on capturing this event.

This is a beautiful sight Kimberley, and well worth the drive out there. Good use of the tripod as the image is nice and sharp with good colours. Very ingenious idea to decorate the top of the tree with cloning. I smiled when I read that. Well done. Perhaps just the sky could do with a bit of NeatImage. Apart from that, it's a lovely winter scene from your part of the world. It's amazing what beauty nature can bring in winter.

A lovely winter scene. The lighting is just perfect and you did well on cloning the top christmas tree lights in. I wouldnot have known had you not mentioned it. I love these large outdoor Christmas trees. You have presented this one well....:O)

Why WS this one Kimberley? I think it is good enough as it is ;o).
Good job on the cloning, it's not noticeable. TFS.

Hi Kimberley, this shot is really nice, very well composed. Wonderful lights, and colours also. I like the siluettes of the trees behind, and the brown (!) of the sky.
Happy new year to you!
Cheers,
Marcie

Wow! You've done excellent with the low and mix of light sources.

Very well composed and perfect exposure.

Wow! Spectacular photo, Kimberley. I love the light on the trees, and the silhouetted trees in the background. Nice composition too, with the large Christmas tree on the right towering over the icy trees on the left. In your note, you had mentioned noise, but I don't think it's too much of an issue here. You can always run your photos through Neat Image, a free noise reduction program (www.neatimage.com).

BTW, this was taken at the corner of Drexel and E. Broad? When I lived in Columbus in the 80s, I think the Drexel Theater was located there - an adult theater. LOL.
