[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
a smile can chase away storms and make someone else's day.....sometimes you are beautiful because of what u possess within, not how much you have....

this is a photo taken in Mulu Camp 5 where we had to stay with limited resources, no electricity, no pipe water....we swam in the river, bathed in the rain....and sleep with bees and insects buzzing around us in the cold...sometimes it felt so tough....but we always pull through....thanks to the warmth we share as a team....

this photo is taken when she accidentally dropped her shoes into the fast running water...although in desperation, she manage to keep up the spirit....cheers to her:)

ps done: converted to b&w to add an old feeling (like in the movires)
soften the background, duplicated another layer and set to 70% opacity
adjusted contrast

Critiques [Translate]

A smile is priceless, yet the simplist of things to give. This is a beautiful image. I realy like what you have done to it also. Holds the mood much better in B&W. Your note is wonderful. Thank you for bringing this smile into my life right now, when things have been seeming so gloomy.

I love the expression! And the portrait overall is beautiful. However, my eye is constantly going to that white (highlight?) that runs along her left arm. I could be wrong but that isn't a highlight is it? If it were, then wouldn't she have the same highlights in her hair and face?

Really good picture. Really good contrast. Just the white patch of the feet that attracts the eye, and it's hard to realize it is her feet. I did a WS, hoping it can be a nice correction that enhanced the picture. But, for me, it's a really good picture. Congadulations! Thanks for sharing!

This is a beautiful and very proffesional picture with a excerllent composition and the expression ..simply superb Eleen !! ..Great work you did !!

I like the blurred back ground that makes the smiling girl more presence in the foreground.
Did she manage to get her shoes back from the river ?

An amazing photo. It is instructive. I like the composition and the rendering in B&W. She radiates a kind of beauty that is difficult to put into words but definitely not the demeaning kind. Well done.
